Carilion Health Systems Selects Vettro FieldMaster To Optimize IT Operations
Vettro FieldMaster On-Demand Model Garners Validation From Health Care Industry Leader and Premier Partners
Las Vegas, Synergy05 Global Users Conference - Vettro, a global leader in on-demand customer relationship (CRM) and field service management (FSM) applications, today announced Carilion Health System has selected Vettro FieldMaster to optimize its ServiceCenter® solution from Peregrine Systems® Inc. (OTC: PRGN), operating on the BlackBerry® platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM).
Vettro FieldMaster for Peregrine represents the first on-demand mobile service for enterprise IT infrastructure software, and is designed to enable Carilion to cost effectively mobilize its service management systems. Vettro FieldMaster further lowers the total cost of ownership by allowing Carilion to subscribe to the software on a fixed, monthly per user basis, while accruing on growing returns over time.
“As one of the leaders in medical technology and care, we rigorously scrutinized every aspect of Vettro FieldMaster, from its technical strengths to cost-value ratio, before making a decision,” said Kendall White, director of information technology, Carilion Health System. “The combination of Vettro FieldMaster’s product architecture and features fundamentally changes our view on mobility as a whole, and provides us with a clear-cut path to predictable returns on our investment.”
Vettro FieldMaster for Peregrine equips Carilion service management technicians with the ability to access ServiceCenter in real-time from any location via BlackBerry®, dramatically improving productivity and quality of IT service delivery. Technicians can access all relevant and current data from anywhere in the field to view, create, update, and act upon single or multiple service requests. The application is designed to dramatically improve response time and facilitate prioritization based upon severity levels, ultimately ensuring service level agreements are met and increasing the number of service requests closed per technician. Offline capabilities allow users to continue working without disruption even when outside of network coverage, with all data automatically queued for re-transmission as soon as a network connection is detected.
"Carilion Health System has an admirable tradition of setting the standard of best practices when it comes to leveraging technology investments to stay ahead of the curve in the health care industry, and the company’s selection of our product to work with Peregrine’s industry-leading service management software is a great validation of Vettro FieldMaster’s on-demand model,” said Matt Finkelstein, general manager of field service products for Vettro. “We have no doubt that mobile computing will continue to gain momentum as the driving force behind productivity gains for field service organizations and we are excited to be able to help Carilion Health System strengthen its leadership position.”
As installation and upgrades to the mobile client are delivered completely over the wireless network, support costs associated with software maintenance are significantly reduced. Additionally, core customizations and updates made within ServiceCenter are ported to the wireless device automatically, eliminating the need for dual development and updates to the server software. The latest version of ServiceCenter, version 6.1, which was unveiled yesterday at Synergy05, features enhanced service levels and problem management capabilities.
