Dexterra Announces Concert™ Mobile Application Platform for BlackBerry

Award-winning Composer Mobile Application Development Tools Now Available for BlackBerry

Bothell, WA - Dexterra, Inc., a leading mobile business software innovator, today announced that its award-winning Concert platform and Composer tools are now available for BlackBerry® from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM).

Applications developed using Concert can access data from a wide range of enterprise data sources. With this release, customers and partners can easily develop, deploy and manage rich composite applications for BlackBerry.

Composer is a tool that enables developers to configure, assemble, customize and build mobile applications without writing a single line of code. With the new release of Composer for BlackBerry, customers and partners can build reusable composite applications using a drag and drop tool. Composer builds applications bound to data objects discovered via the Concert Adapter framework. Composer for BlackBerry provides the application designer with BlackBerry-specific controls, themes and utilities for integrating with GPS, Barcode and contextual integration to specific applications like email, calendar, and phone. Composer for BlackBerry includes a rich scripting language defined in XML for personalizing business logic and also provides full portability between different BlackBerry device types during design.

“Dexterra continues to drive down the cost for developing composite mobile applications,” said Suhas Uliyar, chief technology officer for Dexterra. “Our goal was to make application development for BlackBerry even simpler. Using the Eclipse development platform, we have been able to deliver Dexterra TransApps for BlackBerry for Sales, Service, Logistics, and Approvals integrated to SAP, Siebel, salesforce.com, Remedy, Maximo MRO, Oracle, JD Edwards, and Amdocs Clarify. Dexterra provides the broadest footprint of composite mobile applications, integrated with the broadest number of enterprise backend applications on the broadest set of devices. It is difficult to imagine a better choice for any customer.”

“Dexterra Concert with Composer enabled us to build a feature rich Field Service Application for BlackBerry that integrated with our MQSeries infrastructure within weeks,” said Rod Ghani, VP for IT at Safelite. “Using Composer for BlackBerry we were able to deliver a complete solution that works in all networking environments with full integration with GPS, Barcode scanners and credit card readers.”

“BlackBerry is the ideal platform for enterprises that want to wirelessly extend business applications to the mobile workforce and Dexterra’s technology helps developers to efficiently build composite, feature-rich mobile applications for BlackBerry,” said Mark Guibert, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, Research In Motion.

Dexterra will be demonstrating and running training sessions for creating composite mobile applications using BlackBerry at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2006 in Orlando, FL, May 16th to 18th at booth number 119.
