Brother Partners with DynoPlex to Deliver Universal Printer Interface for Bluetooth Mobile Printing

Orlando, FL Wireless Enterprise Symposium - Brother International Corporation and DynoPlex, Inc. announce immediate availability of Universal Printer Interface - the latest addition to the printing software for its MPrint MW-140BT mobile printer featuring Bluetooth® wireless technology.  Universal Printer Interface can be used with the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM; TSX: RIM) to provide the ability for independent software vendors and corporate IT departments to enable printing to MPrint Bluetooth printers from almost any application with minimal or no development effort.

Employing Universal Printer Interface with MPrint Bluetooth Mobile printers enables developers to wirelessly extend printing capabilities for e-mail, task lists and daily appointments, as well as a variety of additional enterprise applications using BlackBerry. Universal Printer Interface makes MPrint Bluetooth printers an off-the-shelf printing solution.

“MW-140BT is a perfect complement to the BlackBerry platform and Universal Printer Interface will make printing capabilities    for enterprise customers as accessible as it is currently for individual customers,” said John Biancamano, Brother Product Manager.

“We are pleased that Brother International has chosen our technologies to develop the Universal Printer Interface and we are looking forward to extending the advantages of Bluetooth printing to millions of BlackBerry users,” said Sergey Fradkov, co-founder of DynoPlex.

With the MPrint mobile printers and a full suite of printing SDKs now to include Universal Printer Interface, Brother is actively supporting efforts to move handheld devices beyond their e-mail and personal information management functions by encouraging and participating in the development of custom mobile applications.  Developers can download a copy of Brother’s MPrint software and software development kit at http://www.brother-usa.com/mprint/login.aspx.

There are as many MPrint mobile applications as there are vertical markets.   Doctors can use it to provide hard copy backups for electronic prescriptions.   Visiting nurses can quickly print out home healthcare instructions for patients and care givers.   Field maintenance personnel can print repair reports and certified inspection stickers. And field sales people can print up-to-the-minute business quotes, customer receipts, product information, and order confirmations.

The MPrint Bluetooth mobile printer is available online at MobilePlanet, CDW, PC Connection, GTSI, and Amazon.com. Brother is also a BlackBerry ISV Alliance Member.  The estimated street price for the MW-140BT is $399.
